My name is Noah W. Miller. I'm a 26-year-old digital minimalist, former Newsweek journalist, house music DJ and meditator.
I propagate a philosophy called Phonelessness — the idea that using your phone less is the better way to live. I choose to live without a cell phone.
I've spent the last two years without a phone traveling as a digital nomad, testing the assumptions we have about smartphones and technology. This phoneless period has epitomized freedom and adventure, and it's given me a different perspective on cell phones — a perspective that people need to know about.
Phonelessness isn't ditching your phone, it's deliberately choosing to live outside of the phone, which was designed to manipulate and addict us, in the present moment, courageously and in pursuit of our individual purpose, unhindered by designed distraction. The goal is to live in copasetic balance with technology. Phonelessness is something everyone can practice, phone or not.
I'll eventually publish a book about phonelessness, titled Phonelessness, about it all.
I've decided to go phoneless for the rest of my life to raise awareness for people's responsible personal technological habits amid the generation-wide digital addiction that’s been engineered by Silicon Valley, infamously known as the attention economy.
I live without a phone to prove we can.
I'm just now building out my website, mailing list, business and brand. Please follow me here, and please be patient. I've got big plans.
